This great build started life as a Thomas Built body on a Freightliner FS65 chassis with the Mercedes MBE 906 engine. To that platform we added a comprehensive suite of energy and life-support systems to make this a 4 season, off-grid home on wheels, compete with subway tile accents, full swivel captains chairs, A/C, a luxurious shower, and reclaimed barnwood and walnut trim. The countertops are walnut butcher block and feature press-to-latch hardware on all cabinetry. It sleeps 4 comfortably and will keep you comfortable in any environment.

Chrome Yellow was happy to build several custom pieces of furniture, including a dressed-up toolbox complete with live edge maple top and convertible couch bed with seatbelts and storage underneath. We also designed and assisted in the install of the solar system and wiring of the bus. Complete with a children’s loft in the back and rear deck, this unique build looks and feels great anywhere

Designing and installing off-grid energy systems is one of our favorite challenges. We combine a passion for building science with advanced knowledge of solar systems, lithium-ion battery technology, hydronic heat, wood-stove best practices, and propane and diesel system design. Our goal is to get you living the way you imagine, anywhere you want to be.
